Neck Pain

Neck pain is an extremely common condition that is estimated to affect 1 out of every 3 people at least once a year.

There are seven cervical vertebrae (or bones of the spine) in the neck. The joints between these cervical bones are highly moveable, allowing you to bend your head forward, backward and rotate as necessary. Because of its extreme flexibility, the neck tends to easily get injured causing pain and stiffness.

Your neck is the vital passageway that lets your brain communicate with the rest of your body. Even minor injuries can easily cause damage to the supporting muscles, tendons, ligaments and vertebrae of the neck. If left untreated, this can cause major disruption. A simple injury left untreated can become more than a pain in the neck. Chiropractic care for neck injuries is safe and very effective. We have many tools for the treatment of neck pain, and no, you don’t have to get your neck “popped”.

Our Approach

At LHCC, we will first talk to you about your exact symptoms then perform a thorough exam to figure out the cause of your neck pain. If appropriate, we will recommend getting x-rays of your neck to help us determine the exact cause of your issues. We will get right to work helping you feel better on the first visit including adjusting and other modalities that might be necessary like heat or muscle work. We will also talk about stretches, exercises, supplements and lifestyle changes you can make to help your body heal between visits. We typically work on a week-to-week basis (meaning we don’t make long-term treatment plans) with the goal of getting you better as fast as possible so you can spend time doing the activities you love to do.

FAQs

Longmont Community’s Trusted Chiropractors since 2010.

Do I have to get my neck “popped” during treatment?

No. While some chiropractic techniques involve manual adjustments, we also use gentle, low-force methods that do not require a “pop” or “crack.” We’ll tailor your care to your comfort level and specific needs.

When should I see a chiropractor for neck pain?

If your neck pain is persistent, getting worse, or causing symptoms like stiffness, headaches, tingling, or numbness, it’s a good idea to get it checked. Early treatment can help prevent long-term issues.

How quickly will my neck pain improve with chiropractic care?

Many patients notice relief within the first few visits, but recovery time depends on the severity and cause of the injury. Our focus is to get you feeling better as quickly as possible without unnecessary long-term plans.
