Kinesio Taping

What is Kinesio Taping?

Longmont Kinesio TapingKinesio taping, or “K tape” is an advanced method of athletic taping used to speed healing and increase performance. Developed in the late 1980’s, kinesio taping gained notoriety following the 2008 Olympics. Special elastic tape applied in a specific manner, K tape works with the nervous system to activate or inhibit specific muscles, in order to support an injury. Additionally, a unique “weave” applied to the back of the tape mimics the bodies lymphatic system, allowing for increased circulation and dramatic healing of bruises.
